The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provide the oversight and institutional vision of the organization. Many of our Board Members are young professionals who have been involved with CYI in the past.

Andy Woo, Chair
Andy has been a community advisor to CYI for over 10 years. Currently, he is an Engineering Supervisor at Con Edison, designing and operating the Manhattan electrical system. Andy has been a passionate advocate for student leadership development as the founder of the John Liu Youth Action Team since NYC Comptroller John Liu's intial election to New York City Council in 2001. Andy continues to ensure that tomorrow's leaders build a stronger connection with the community around them as a member of NYC First Robotics Competition Planning Committee and serving on the board of OCA's New York Chapter as the CYI liaison.

Joanne Guo
Joanne Guo received her M.A. degree in economics from NYU, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the Graduate Center CUNY. She has been teaching undergraduate economics courses at Pace University, NYU, and Queens College. Prior to academia, she worked for the Securities and Exchange Comission, and was an intern at the United Nations.

Elisa Rae Espiritu
Elisa has worked in the past with organizations such as The Posse Foundation, The International YMCA, and The Chinatown Working Group. Elisa has been a member of the Board of Directors for CYI for two years. She has an M.A. in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy from NYU's Steinhardt School of Education.
